As early as in 1999, we saw the value for high-school students to gain overseas exposure and study experience, in the meantime to enjoy the fun of sight-seeing, by using their summer holidays.
We affiliated with UCLA, UC-Riverside, UC-Berkeley, and some other institutions on the east coast of US and some in UK for the Summer Study Tour, from 4-week to 8-week. During the tour, students were actually living in the Universities’ hostel to experience the university campus life. In addition to the intensive English classes taught by the University’s staff, students also traveled to different scenic spots, museum, theme parks and other points of interest organized by the University staff.
Feedback from both the students themselves and their parents were very positive, and subsequently “summer tour” became a more and more common summer activity for primary- and secondary-school students.
